Musabay TechnologiesPython Developer InstructorRemote03/2023 - Present
Developed and taught curriculum for a backend developer course covering Python, PostgreSQL, Django, Flask, AWS, DevOps, Alembic, and SQLAlchemy.
09/2021 - PresentExperienced tech lead with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams in developing and delivering innovative software solutions. Expertise in Python, Flask, AWS, Scrum, and PostgreSQL. Proven ability to drive project success, facilitate collaboration, and deliver ahead of schedule. Strong skills in team leadership, technical problem-solving, and agile project management. Successfully onboarded new team members and provided technical oversight for production systems.
04/2020 - 07/2021Architected, implemented and deployed an MVP Django/PostgreSQL platform that optimized home garden environments with machine learning. Integrated with hardware devices that collected data from I2C sensors in a multi-threaded Python system. Performed analysis in procurement, market research, and competitors.
06/2019 - 03/2020Architected and developed a web store with Django/PostgreSQL that allowed 3rd Parties to offer ML services and upload ML models/datasets. Users could then shop and review these product offerings.
01/2018 - 01/2019Lead developer/architect for infrastructure in an ML image classification system that identified targets from the air and reported to the ground in real-time. Deployed using NVIDIA TX2 for edge computing capability. System features included: live model swapping, real-time inference and results querying during flight mission. Managed remote SW team for frontend development. Developed an enterprise image labeling application that facilitated remote labeling activities as part of an ML Ops Data Pipeline effort.
10/2017 - 01/2018Lead developer for retrofitting a high fidelity simulated environment, AFSIM, with reinforcement learning support. Custom AFSIM C++ plugin enabled language agnostic RL libraries to observe, execute actions, and clock control for faster than real-time training of a pilot agent. Extended the RL library BURLAP to control an AFSIM pilot by defining agent, world and action attributes. Managed 2 SW engineers in support of the AFSIM effort.
03/2016 - 10/2017Contributed in design and development for multiple prototypes. The most notable effort focused on cognitive electronic warfare. System classified known radar emitters with machine learning. Awarded with Special Recognition for efforts in ensuring a very successful demo. Introduced and assimilated AI Research team members with software development standards and tools such as: OOP with Python, Docker, and Git. Tasked and mentored 3 SW engineers.
01/2015 - 02/2016Accepted into the highly selective Engineering Leadership Development Program. Contributed to full stack design, development and testing of a web-based project.
Projects
-
2021 - 2021Who Goes There
An open source security camera classification system to extract classified objects from images with machine learning. If you're interested in finding out who is consistently destroying your garden, ask Who Goes There for insight.

2020 - PresentPortfolio Blog
Portfolio Blog is a django project that allows anyone to publish their resume through a simple to use administration panel and that can be hosted on their own servers. It currently allows you to display your projects, experience, skills, education, and courses. It also has a basic blog functionality built into it to allow your site to have any relevant posts you may want to share.
-
2019 - 2019Fit For Work
Provided analysis of data collections operation and provided areas of improvement as well as possible predictive insight which would seek to reduce disability incidents through preventative care. Report gave a baseline for how machine learning performs with their current structured data as well as areas to improve in their data collection activities.
-
2014 - 2014Collaborative Platform: Mentor Module
Developed the admin management tools that allows control of data and views that give insight on usage at a detailed/system wide level through database queries. Developed the Accept/Reject System of roles between admin and new incoming mentor applications. Tools Used: Yii Framework (MVC), PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, XAMPP
-
2014 - 2014Android OS Kernel Development on Nexus 7 Tablet
Created producer/consumer threads to identify and kill all non-prioritized, high memory usage processes until memory was no longer below defined threshold. Written in C. Also required the ability to define an upper bound on memory/CPU usage on a per-process basis through a user-space program and kill processes when it exceeded the defined limit through a kernel module. Second Phase of project required creating a new round-robin style IO scheduler for the block device.
-
2014 - 2014PantherLot System
Java Project used for testing that was designed to handle garage parking. Created Test cases for Unit and Subsytem Testing using equivalence partitioning and boundary-value analysis. Used JUnit 4 to run test cases. Jacoco and Cobertura for test coverage. Mockito to mock/stub classes.
-
2014 - 2014Music Management System
Development life cycle was managed using principles of software project management. Created Software Project Plan and estimated schedule using Use Case Point Analysis Method. Identified risks and solutions to maintain on schedule and in budget.
-
2013 - 2013What's the Dish
What's the Dish is a social media application for the Android platform that cuts through all the noise and just focuses on what food enthusiasts want to see: Food. The users can be 'regular users', which includes Facebook users, Publishers, which include Restaurant owners and chefs, and Guests. Facebook users will be able to post their favorite foods or recipes and their friends can comment or rate those postings. Publishers can only posts their plates or recipes but won't be able to interact with other postings other than their own.
